There has been an increase in the number of films from Latino filmmakers showing up at the Sundance Film Festival recently and this represents an effort by filmmakers to create and promote movies that are told by and from a Latino perspective. Many of the movies showing up for streaming and downloads in the past on Channel131 have been such that they represent a much more cliché view of Latino life and many Latino filmmakers have been making a significant effort to create movies that describe Latino life from a realistic perspective and not one that has nothing to do with the real lives of Latino residents in North America.
